Urania Cabral, a New York lawyer, returns to the Dominican Republic after a lifelong, self-imposed exile. Once she is back in her homeland, the elusive feeling of terror that has overshadowed her whole life suddenly takes shape. Urania’s own story alternates with the powerful climax of dictator Rafael Trujillo’s reign.

Urania Cabral, un abogado de Nueva York, regresa a la República Dominicana después de un exilio autoimpuesto. Una vez que ella está de vuelta en su tierra natal, el senti-miento de terror que ha ensombrecido toda su vida toma forma. Alterna la historia de Urania con el poderoso clímax del reinado del dictador Rafael Trujillo.

The group will meet Wednesday, June 11, 7-8:30 pm, 3rd Floor, Seminar Room, Main Library. Attendees have the option to read in English and/or Spanish. Discussions may also be in English and Spanish. Attendees do not have to be bilingual.
