Maya Vidal, a 19-year-old American girl, finds refuge on a remote island off the coast of Chile after falling into a life of drugs, crime, and prostitution. There, in the company of a lame dog and other strange characters, she begins to record her life story in a notebook, which includes pursuit by assassins, the police, and the FBI…and in the process of writing, she unveils a terrible family secret.

Maya Vidal, una niña americana de 19 años, encuentra refugio en una isla remota en la costa de Chile después de caer en una vida de drogas, la delincuencia y la prostitución. Allí, en compañía de un perro cojo y otros personajes extraños, ella comienza a grabar su historia de vida en un cuaderno, que incluye la persecución de los asesinos, la policía y el FBI … y en el proceso de escribir, ella revela un secreto terrible de la familia.

The group will meet Wednesday, March 11, 7:00-8:30 p.m., 3rd Floor, Seminar Room, Main Library. Attendees have the option to read in English and/or Spanish.
